Holders of all types of passports from Mongolia and the Maldives will be able to travel visa-free for up to 30 days. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, on August 17, 2023, the “Agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Republic of Maldives on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic, Official, and Regular Passports” was signed in Delhi.

Mongolia and the Republic of Maldives established diplomatic relations on August 11, 1985. The Agreement on Mutual Exemption provides for visa-free travel for all types of passport holders of both countries for up to 30 days in the other country. It is expected to play a pivotal role in further developing the relations and cooperation between the two nations.

The Mongolian government has undertaken several measures to promote and develop tourism as a key driver of economic growth and cultural exchange. The government has implemented visa exemptions and simplified visa procedures for citizens of certain countries, making it easier for tourists to visit Mongolia.
