The Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry G.Yondon informs that the MONGOLIA@PDAC 2022 business forum was held on June 13th to promote Mongolia and attract investment as part of the PDAC 2022.

The MONGOLIA@PDAC 2022 business forum featured discussions on the Mongolian copper, gold, and metallurgical coal markets, and lithium exploration and mining. Participants also discussed the advantages of Mongolia’s mining sector, investment opportunities, and amendments to the Minerals Law and the Sovereign Wealth Fund Law.

Mongolia’s largest mining companies such as Oyu Tolgoi LLC, Erdenet, Mongolrostsvetmet SOE, Steppe Gold LLC, Energy Resources LLC, Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi LLC, and Erdene Resources Development are participating in PDAC, as well as Xanadu Mines and ION Energy.

More than 23,000 delegates from 135 countries are taking part in this largest and most prestigious mining forum.

This year, PDAC’s main focuses are gold, nickel, and lithium projects. The participants also highlighted the need to start new nickel and lithium projects for the production of EV batteries. Ion Energy, which is exploring lithium in Mongolia, participated in the forum and introduced its projects.
