Mongolia ranked 82nd out of 193 countries in the Henley Passport Index. The index uses data from the International Air Transport Authority and includes 199 different passports and 227 travel destinations. Updated quarterly, the Henley Passport Index is considered the standard reference tool for global citizens and sovereign states when assessing where a passport ranks on global mobility.
The top spot on the 2023 list goes to Japan, with a passport allowing visa-free travel to 193 destinations. Singaporean and South Korean passports each rank second, allowing visa-free travel to 192 destinations.
Mongolia’s passport allows visa-free travel to 62 destinations and is ranked 82nd. This is an improvement from its ranking of 87th in 2021 and 85th in 2022. Apart from the visa-free and visa-on-arrival countries, Mongolian passport holders need either a physical visa or an e-Visa to enter 169 additional destinations.
