The National Statistics Office has updated the minimum living wage of the population. The indicator is used as a base for determining the amount of social insurance and welfare pensions, allowances, labor wages, and compensation, and for providing monetary support to citizens.

Minimum living wage by region:
- 274,400 MNT in the western region
- 282,500 MNT in Khangai region
- 272,300 MNT in the central region
- 271,800 MNT in the eastern region
- 313,400 MNT in Ulaanbaatar
Compared to the previous year, the minimum living wage in Ulaanbaatar city was increased by 12.8 percent, and that of Khangai region by 17.5 percent. In 2022, the living wage of the population was set at MNT 277,800 in Ulaanbaatar. A living wage is a minimum income necessary for a worker to meet his or her basic needs.
