The income of the information and communication sector increased by 8% last year and reached MNT 1.7 trillion. The largest part of the income, or about 76%, is generated by telecommunication activities. The next largest part is made up of television broadcasting revenue.
The increase in the income of the information and communication sector was mainly due to the 17.9% increase in the income of broadcast preparation and transmission to MNT 230 billion. In addition, during the reporting period:
- Cable TV users increased by 3.8% to 991.4 thousand,
- The duplicate number of active mobile users increased by 4.9% to 4.8 million
- Internet users increased by 1.2% and reached 4.2 million.
Looking at the results of the postal service last year, the total volume of mail and parcels increased by 45.7% to 8.8 million. This growth was due to a 27% increase in domestic mail and parcels. Business purpose letters increased 2.2 times and reached 1.6 million among the total parcels.
